A few weeks ago I got my hands on something interesting! A spelling software program called SpellQuizzer. I was a little sceptical at first (our current spelling curriculum is working fine) but I was surprised to find what an awesome addition to any spelling curriculum this program could be! 
Using SpellQuizzer you create your own audio spelling review lists to quiz your kids using your own voice to record the spelling word and the word used in a sentence! (Your kiddos will think that is SO COOL!) You can keep things fun by using silly voices or using the word is a goofy sentence. Do not worry...If by chance you do not have a microphone to use with the program you can use a "reminder phrase" to prompt the word to be spelled or you could pick up an external mic up at Wal-Mart for around $10.
This program could be used to help your child review last years spelling words during the summer with a little bit of weekly review. It could be used with your current spelling curriculum,..or even on it's own if you wanted to create your own spelling list each week!
